Impulse Line Blockage Case 4
This is an illustrative training case. It is not a documented plant incident.
Situation
During a field round, technicians reported that alarm behavior and trend did not match plant conditions. The current case focus is: slow response and offset in pressure indication. Instrument tag PT-2014 is configured for 0-100 bar.
Field observations
- Local indicator and DCS value disagree by a noticeable margin.
- The transmitter range card shows 0-100 bar with 4-20 mA output.
- Recent maintenance history indicates tubing/manifold/calibration work in this loop.
Safety before any hands-on work
Always follow plant SOP, PTW, isolation, depressurization, venting, draining, PPE, LOTO, and supervisor instructions before working on pressure systems.
